New flotation devices such as flotation cyclones and flotation centrifuges have successfully been demonstrated for the beneficiation of coal. In this project a flotation centrifuge developed for that purpose was modified and applied to the treatment of wastewater from a food processing plant containing emulgated oil and fat. The cleaning efficiency of the flotation centrifuge was determined by the COD reduction of the wastewater and depended on its composition and pre‐treatment.
