Tổng cộng 41 chủng vi sinh vật được thu được từ các mẫu (đất, bùn và nước) của suối nước nóng Surajkund, Jharkhand, tại ba nhiệt độ thu mẫu khác nhau là 50°C, 60°C và 70°C. Tuy nhiên, chúng tôi quan tâm đến các chủng vi sinh vật ưa nhiệt được tách ra ở 60°C và 70°C. Bốn chủng thu được ở 70°C (BITSNS038, BITSNS039, BITSNS040, BITSNS041) là các nhà sản xuất enzyme nhiệt, cụ thể là amylase, xylanase và cellulase, tương ứng. Những điểm nổi bật trong nghiên cứu hiện tại cũng cho thấy rằng ba trong số bốn chủng đã thể hiện tất cả ba hoạt động enzymatic, cụ thể là hoạt tính amylolytic, xylanolytic và cellulolytic trong các điều kiện thí nghiệm trên đĩa g agar ở 70°C. Một trong các chủng, BITSNS038, đã được chọn cho việc định loại hình thái cũng như giải trình tự gen 16S rRNA và được phân loại vào Geobacillus icigianus. Sự hiện diện của Geobacillus icigianus đã được báo cáo lần đầu tiên từ suối nước nóng Surajkund, với chỉ số amylolytic là 1.58, chỉ số xylanolytic là 1.5 và chỉ số cellulolytic là 2.3 dựa trên thí nghiệm trên đĩa, cùng với hoạt tính amylase là 0.81 U/mL, hoạt tính xylanase là 0.72 U/mL và hoạt tính cellulase rất thấp là 0.15 U/mL sau 24 giờ tăng trưởng trong điều kiện ngập nước. Một chủng ở 60°C, BITSNS024, được phát hiện có hoạt tính amylase tối đa với giá trị chỉ số enzym là 3.5 và được xác định là Anoxybacillus gonensis.
