Đánh giá xét nghiệm bao gồm Troponin T nhạy cảm cao và peptit tác động Natri loại B pro (NT-proBNP). Đánh giá siêu âm tim tập trung vào chức năng systolic của tâm thất trái và phải cùng với độ biến đổi dọc toàn cầu (GLS).Kết quảTổng cộng có 51 bệnh nhân được đưa vào nghiên cứu, với độ tuổi trung bình là 63 tuổi (phạm vi 51–68 tuổi), trong đó 80% là nam giới. Troponin T tăng cao (>14 ng/l) ở 47% bệnh nhân, và tăng Troponin T có ý nghĩa lâm sàng (10 × URL) được phát hiện ở ba bệnh nhân (6%). NT-proBNP tăng cao (>300 pg/ml) ở 24 bệnh nhân (47%), và ở bốn bệnh nhân (8%) nồng độ NT-proBNP vượt quá 1.000 pg/ml. Suy chức năng tâm thất trái (phân suất tống máu <52% và/hoặc GLS >−18%) được quan sát ở 27% bệnh nhân, trong khi suy chức năng tâm thất phải (TAPSE <17 mm và/hoặc RV S’ < 10 cm/s) được thấy ở 10%. Không có mối liên hệ nào giữa Troponin T hoặc NT-proBNP tăng cao với suy chức năng tâm thất trái hoặc phải. Những bệnh nhân có bệnh tắc động mạch phổi xác nhận vẫn có chức năng tâm thất phải bình thường.Kết luậnỞ những bệnh nhân nhập viện, có vẻ như COVID-19 chủ yếu ảnh hưởng đến hệ hô hấp, trong khi suy chức năng tim xảy ra ít hơn.
