Ảnh hưởng của Bleomycin đối với sự sao chép bán bảo tồn của DNA hạt nhân chuột đã được nghiên cứu. Khi các tế bào fibroblast chuột (tế bào L) đang phân chia không đồng bộ được nuôi cấy trong môi trường có chứa 5-bromodeoxyuridine (25mg/l) trong 18 giờ, ba dải DNA lai với mật độ 1.722, 1.752 và 1.761 kg/l xuất hiện sau khi ly tâm phân đoạn mật độ caesi clorua của DNA hạt nhân. Tuy nhiên, trong các tế bào tiếp xúc với Bleomycin (100 mg/l), sự sao chép DNA vệ tinh bị ức chế mạnh hơn so với sự sao chép DNA dải chính; đặc biệt là chuỗi lai phong phú thymidine ở mức 1.761 kg/l không còn được phát hiện.
