Các hợp chất dị thể BiVO4/BiO0.67F1.66 với hình thái bánh đã được tổng hợp thành công bằng phương pháp thủy nhiệt hai bước lần đầu tiên. Các vi cấu trúc BiVO4/BiO0.67F1.66 được đặc trưng bằng phương pháp nhiễu xạ tia X (XRD), kính hiển vi điện tử quét (SEM), kính hiển vi điện tử truyền (TEM), quang phổ điện tử tia X (XPS), kính đo hấp thụ khuếch tán cực tím - khả kiến (UV-vis), và đo diện tích bề mặt theo phương pháp Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). Hiệu suất quang xúc tác của các hợp chất BiVO4/BiO0.67F1.66 đã được đánh giá thông qua việc nghiên cứu quá trình phân hủy rhodamin B (RhB) và các phân tử phenol trong dung dịch nước dưới ánh sáng khả kiến. Các hợp chất BiVO4/BiO0.67F1.66 thể hiện hoạt động quang xúc tác được cải thiện rõ rệt so với BiVO4 nguyên chất, do diện tích bề mặt tăng lên và dị thể p–n độc đáo giữa BiO0.67F1.66 và BiVO4.
