Benzoylformamides (BFAs) được đề xuất như là các base photocaged cho sự photopolymer hóa gốc tự do oxi hóa khử (FRP). Ban đầu, khả năng hòa tan của BFAs đã được đánh giá. Bên cạnh quá trình polymer hóa anion tiềm ẩn do chúng tôi đã báo cáo trước đó, BFAs, với vai trò là các base photocaged đa năng, không chỉ có thể khởi động quá trình FRP của các acrylate mà còn thực hiện phản ứng FRP oxi hóa khử kết hợp với chất khởi đầu benzoyl peroxide. Chúng tôi mô tả một mô hình photopolymer hóa trong sự có mặt của BFA-dBA (N,N-dibenzyl-2-oxo-2-phenylacetamide) như là base photocaged. Kết hợp với chất khởi đầu benzoyl peroxide, BFAs có khả năng khởi động quá trình photopolymer hóa oxi hóa khử trung gian amin của các acrylate và tăng tốc độ photopolymer hóa.
