Aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich der Videokapselendoskopie

Die Videokapselendoskopie ist ein zentraler Bestandteil der Dünndarmdiagnostik und hat auch im oberen Gastrointestinaltrakt und im Kolon an Bedeutung gewonnen. Es wird ein Überblick über die aktuellen technischen Neuentwicklungen und innovativen Methodiken bei kapselbasierten Diagnosesystemen und deren Auswirkungen auf Diagnosepfade und Ausweitung ihrer Indikationsgebiete gegeben. Auswertung aktueller Literatur- und Quellen aus PubMed® und ClinicalTrial.gov (beides: U.S. National Library of Medicine®, Bethesda, MD, USA) sowie dem Deutschen Register klinischer Studien. Zahlreiche technische Innovationen ermöglichen eine hochauflösende, endoluminale Panoramabildgebung. Die computergestützte Bildanalyse hat die Auswertung erheblich beschleunigt. Kolon und oberer Gastrointestinaltrakt sind neue mögliche Indikationsgebiete. Durch roboterassistierte magnetgesteuerte Videokapselendoskopie und künstliche Intelligenz könnte sich diese Entwicklung noch beschleunigen. Mit der HemoPill® acute (Ovesco Endoscopy, Tübingen, Deutschland) steht ein neuartiges, nicht bildgebendes Kapselsystem zur photometrischen Detektion von Blut/Hämatin im oberen Gastrointestinaltrakt und Dünndarm zur Verfügung. Videokapselsysteme haben eine immer zentralere Bedeutung in der enteralen Diagnostik. Durch Automatisierung und künstliche Intelligenz könnten sie sich zunehmend als nicht invasive Alternativen zur Endoskopie anbieten. Die neuartige, photometrische HemoPill® acute könnte in der Diagnostik oberer gastrointestinaler Blutungen und Dünndarmblutungen ein entscheidendes Werkzeug werden.
