Nghiên cứu này tóm tắt một đánh giá tài liệu định tính và phân tích tổng hợp định lượng, khi có thể, nhằm xem xét các tác động tiềm năng của việc tiếp xúc với các ion không khí âm và dương đối với các chỉ số tâm lý về tâm trạng và trạng thái cảm xúc.

Phương pháp

Một đánh giá tài liệu có cấu trúc đã được tiến hành để xác định các nghiên cứu thực nghiệm trên con người được công bố đến tháng 8 năm 2012. Ba mươi ba nghiên cứu (1957–2012) đánh giá tác động của ion hóa không khí đối với trầm cảm, lo âu, trạng thái tâm trạng và cảm giác chủ quan về sức khỏe tâm thần ở con người đã được đưa vào. Năm nghiên cứu về ion hóa âm và trầm cảm (được đo bằng hướng dẫn phỏng vấn có cấu trúc) đã được đánh giá theo mức độ cường độ tiếp xúc (cao so với thấp) bằng cách sử dụng phân tích tổng hợp.
