Với sự chú trọng ngày càng nhiều vào việc thử nghiệm tại chỗ và sự ra đời của công nghệ thu thập dữ liệu kỹ thuật số, thực tiễn khảo sát địa kỹ thuật tại Ấn Độ đang có những bước tiến vượt bậc. Với nhiều loại thử nghiệm hiện có, dữ liệu có thể được phân tích một cách hiệu quả để cải thiện chất lượng của các tham số địa kỹ thuật và nâng cao độ tin cậy của chúng. Việc điều chỉnh năng lượng của thử nghiệm SPT cung cấp một phương pháp khoa học để tiêu chuẩn hóa năng lượng chuyển giao đến mẫu lấy mẫu thìa tách và giảm thiểu sai lệch/lỗi trong các giá trị. Thử nghiệm xuyên điện (CPT) rất đáng tin cậy vì nó không phụ thuộc vào người vận hành và kết quả có thể lặp lại. Các thử nghiệm áp kế đã trở nên rất phổ biến tại Ấn Độ trong hai thập kỷ qua. Thử nghiệm này gây ra sự xáo trộn tối thiểu cho đất tại chỗ. Các thử nghiệm địa vật lý như thử nghiệm điện trở, thử nghiệm địa chấn xuyên lỗ và SASW/MASW cung cấp đánh giá nhanh về các hồ sơ tốc độ sóng cắt và hành vi động lực học khi nén thấp. Có nhiều mối tương quan giữa CPT, áp kế và SPT cũng như tốc độ sóng cắt, không chỉ nhất quán mà còn hình thành cơ sở để chọn các tham số thiết kế đại diện cho điều kiện tại chỗ. Bài báo nêu bật các công nghệ khác nhau có sẵn trong nước cùng với một nghiên cứu trường hợp minh họa việc áp dụng các thử nghiệm này.
