Tóm tắt
This paper proposes adaptive channel borrowing assignment for TDMA cellular mobile networks in order to reduce the overall call blocking rate. This scheme is based on the cell's traffic situation by first choosing cell with the lowest traffic in the same cluster and then choose its vacant channels uniformly. The simulation model and TDMA frame format arrangement are based on GSM specifications. The simulation model considers 49 cells (7 clusters) in order to consider the effect of surrounding clusters on the central cluster and the overall system. The simulation considers both uniform and nonuniform traffic distributions. The simulation results show that the overall call blocking rate of adaptive channel borrowing with uniform channel allocation is lower than that of adaptive borrowing with channel ordering (ABCO). In contrast, the overall channel borrowing rate and the overall call drop rate of this method is higher than ABCO for uniform and nonuniform traffic distributions, respectively.
