Các tác động độc tính cấp tính và cơ chế của hai hóa chất gây rối loạn nội tiết điển hình, nonylphenols (NPs) và bisphenol A (BPA), đối với sự phát triển phôi của abalone Haliotis diversicolor supertexta đã được nghiên cứu thông qua thử nghiệm độc tính phôi hai giai đoạn. Nồng độ hiệu quả trung bình (EC50) trong 12 giờ của NPs và BPA đối với sự phát triển trochophore lần lượt là 1016.22 và 30.72 μg L−1, và các giá trị EC50 tương ứng trong 96 giờ dựa trên việc hoàn thành quá trình biến hình (một điểm kết thúc thí nghiệm khác) đã giảm xuống 11.65 và 1.02 μg L−1.
