Tóm tắt Đặt vấn đề Châm cứu được sử dụng để điều trị bệnh nhân mắc bệnh lý thần kinh ngoại vi do tiểu đường; tuy nhiên, bằng chứng chưa rõ ràng. Chúng tôi trình bày thiết kế và phương pháp của thử nghiệm ACUDPN (Châm cứu trong bệnh lý thần kinh ngoại vi do tiểu đường), điều tra hiệu quả của châm cứu trong việc điều trị triệu chứng bệnh lý thần kinh ngoại vi do tiểu đường (DPN). Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là điều tra liệu châm cứu có hiệu quả trong việc điều trị triệu chứng DPN hay không. Phương pháp Nghiên cứu này là một thử nghiệm đối chứng ngẫu nhiên hai nhánh, nhóm song song, mở, xác nhận, đa trung tâm (thời gian can thiệp 8 tuần cộng thêm 16 tuần theo dõi). Các bác sĩ tại các đơn vị ngoại trú ở Đức chuyên về điều trị châm cứu sẽ điều trị cho 110 bệnh nhân tiểu đường loại II có triệu chứng lâm sàng của thần kinh ngoại vi ở bàn chân và chân với các dấu hiệu thần kinh theo thử nghiệm dẫn truyền thần kinh. Các bệnh nhân sẽ được phân ngẫu nhiên theo tỷ lệ 1:1 vào một trong hai nhóm sau: (a) châm cứu bán chuẩn hóa cộng với chăm sóc thường lệ hoặc (b) chỉ chăm sóc thường lệ. Châm cứu sẽ bao gồm 12 lần điều trị cho mỗi bệnh nhân trong 8 tuần. Kết quả chính sẽ là các phàn nàn liên quan đến DPN ở các chi sau 8 tuần được đo bằng Thang Đo Vi Sở (VAS). Các biện pháp kết quả khác sẽ bao gồm đau liên quan đến DPN, Chỉ số Triệu chứng Đau Thần kinh (NPSI), điểm ảnh hưởng đau thần kinh ngoại vi do tiểu đường (DPNPI), và các tham số dẫn truyền thần kinh của dây thần kinh sural tại tuần 8, 16 và 24. Trao đổi Kết quả của thử nghiệm này sẽ có vào năm 2021 và sẽ giúp làm rõ liệu châm cứu có thể được coi là hiệu quả trong việc điều trị DPN liên quan đến các chiều phụ của hình ảnh lâm sàng thần kinh.
