Thanh thiếu niên mắc chứng loạn tâm thần có nguy cơ tự tử cao nhất, nhưng lại thiếu các can thiệp hiệu quả trong việc phòng ngừa tự tử và quản lý triệu chứng với sự xem xét đến bối cảnh gia đình. Can thiệp Thanh thiếu niên đối phó với điều trị loạn tâm thần sớm kết hợp (ACCEPT) là một can thiệp bổ sung có thời hạn, được thiết kế để hỗ trợ các bậc phụ huynh của thanh thiếu niên có triệu chứng tâm thần và hành vi tự sát. ACCEPT nhắm vào các quy trình gia đình có liên quan đến nguy cơ tự tử ở thanh thiếu niên và tái phát loạn tâm thần bằng cách (1) cung cấp kiến thức tâm lý về loạn tâm thần, nguy cơ tự tử và kế hoạch an toàn; (2) tăng cường việc sử dụng các chiến lược dựa trên sự chấp nhận của cha mẹ và trẻ nhằm giảm bớt distress; và (3) cải thiện giao tiếp cảm xúc tích cực trong gia đình.
