Đánh giá có hệ thống này xem xét và tóm tắt phương pháp đã được ghi chép trong các nghiên cứu sử dụng đo áp suất họng cao độ phân giải (HRM) có và không có công nghệ cản trở (HRIM) ở các quần thể người lớn. Bốn cơ sở dữ liệu điện tử CINAHL, EMBASE, MEDLINE và Thư viện Cochrane đã được tìm kiếm cho đến và bao gồm tháng 3 năm 2017. Các nghiên cứu báo cáo HRM/HRIM họng cho đánh giá nuốt và/hoặc phát âm, được công bố trong các tạp chí được phản biện bằng tiếng Anh, tiếng Đức hoặc tiếng Tây Ban Nha đã được đánh giá theo tiêu chí bao gồm. Trong số các nghiên cứu được chọn, các khía cạnh phương pháp của việc thu thập và phân tích dữ liệu đã được trích xuất. Các ấn phẩm được phân loại dựa trên mức độ bằng chứng của chúng và chất lượng của các khía cạnh phương pháp đã được đánh giá. Sáu mươi hai bài viết đã được xác định là đủ điều kiện, trong đó 50 nghiên cứu báo cáo việc sử dụng HRM và 12 nghiên cứu sử dụng HRIM. Trong số tất cả các bản thảo được bao gồm, phần lớn sử dụng hệ thống ManoScan™ (64,5%), đường kính catheter phổ biến nhất được ghi chép là 4,2 mm (30,6%). Hầu hết các ấn phẩm báo cáo việc áp dụng gây tê tại chỗ (53,2%). Để phân tích dữ liệu trong các nghiên cứu sử dụng HRM, phần mềm tích hợp trong hệ thống ghi âm được báo cáo thường xuyên nhất (56%). Một tỷ lệ nhỏ các nghiên cứu sử dụng HRM cung cấp dữ liệu về độ tin cậy đo lường (10%). Tỷ lệ này cao hơn đối với các nghiên cứu sử dụng HRIM (50%). Có sự biến thiên phương pháp đáng kể về thu thập và phân tích dữ liệu trong các nghiên cứu đã công bố sử dụng HRM/HRIM. Việc thiếu báo cáo về phương pháp khiến việc tái hiện nghiên cứu trở nên khó khăn và giảm khả năng so sánh giữa các nghiên cứu. Cần có thêm dữ liệu về tác động của các khía cạnh phương pháp cá nhân lên kết quả nghiên cứu để phát triển các khuyến nghị về phương pháp.
