A review of Group Decision Support Systems

A series of articles is planned in the next few issues of OR Insight covering aspects of Group Decision Support Systems (GDSS). Later articles will examine specific methodologies within the broad theme, and will illustrate the practical application of GDSS by case studies. This article is intended to set the scene by relating the need for effective decision processes to the several types of GDSS, with varying degrees of technological support, which are being developed. The case studies will then follow.
