Chúng tôi báo cáo về một điện cực hợp kim thiếc-bismuth mới (SnBiE) dùng để xác định nồng độ vết của ion kẽm bằng phương pháp voltammetry phân cực anodic sóng vuông mà không cần khử oxy. SnBiE có những ưu điểm như dễ chế tạo và chi phí thấp, không yêu cầu tiền xử lý (về mặt sửa đổi) trước khi thực hiện các phép đo. Một nghiên cứu về cửa sổ tiềm năng của điện cực đã cho thấy sự tồn tại của điện áp vượt quá hydrogen cao mặc dù có một khoảng anodic hạn chế do sự oxi hóa của thiếc. Các hiệu ứng của giá trị pH, tiềm năng tích lũy và thời gian tích lũy đã được tối ưu hóa để xác định kẽm(II) ở pH 5.0. Đáp ứng của SnBiE với ion kẽm(II) có tính tuyến tính trong khoảng nồng độ từ 0,5–25 μM. Giới hạn phát hiện là 50 nM (sau 60 giây tích lũy). SnBiE đã được áp dụng để xác định kẽm(II) trong rượu vang và mật ong, và các kết quả phù hợp với các phương pháp AAS.
