Tóm tắt Nền tảng Các chương trình nuôi dạy con cái dựa trên bằng chứng có chứng cứ vững chắc trong việc ngăn chặn và giảm thiểu bạo lực, nhưng việc triển khai các chương trình này trực tiếp trên diện rộng gặp nhiều khó khăn. ParentApp là một ứng dụng mã nguồn mở, ưu tiên hoạt động ngoại tuyến, thích nghi từ chương trình Nuôi dạy cho sức khỏe suốt đời cho phụ huynh và thanh thiếu niên nhằm thúc đẩy nuôi dạy con cái theo cách vui vẻ và tích cực, giảm thiểu nguy cơ trở thành nạn nhân của bạo lực tình dục và ngăn chặn bạo lực đối với thanh thiếu niên. Nghiên cứu này nhằm đánh giá hiệu quả và hiệu quả chi phí của ParentApp so với một nhóm kiểm soát chú ý. Phương pháp Nghiên cứu này là một thử nghiệm lâm sàng ngẫu nhiên cụm thực tiễn hai nhánh nhằm kiểm tra xem ParentApp có giảm thiểu bạo hành thể chất, bạo hành cảm xúc và nguy cơ cũng như trở thành nạn nhân của bạo lực tình dục ở thanh thiếu niên sau 1 tháng và 12 tháng can thiệp hay không. Các nhà chăm sóc thanh thiếu niên từ 10–17 tuổi và con cái của họ (N = 2400 cặp nhà chăm sóc - thanh thiếu niên) sẽ được tuyển chọn ở các cộng đồng đô thị và ngoại ô ở vùng Mwanza, Tanzania. Tổng cộng 80 cụm nghiên cứu sẽ được phân tầng và ngẫu nhiên (1:1) vào nhóm can thiệp, những người sẽ nhận ParentApp với sự hỗ trợ qua nhóm WhatsApp, hoặc vào nhóm kiểm soát chú ý, những người sẽ nhận một ứng dụng về nước, vệ sinh và sức khỏe.
