Các nghiên cứu gần đây đã nhấn mạnh giá trị kinh tế đáng kể của các sản phẩm không gỗ thu được từ các khu rừng Địa Trung Hải. Mặc dù các sản phẩm này có liên quan đến quản lý rừng, nhưng rất ít nghiên cứu phân tích tác động kinh tế của những hoạt động nông lâm kết hợp như vậy và đóng góp của chúng cho sự phát triển kinh tế ở những khu vực mà chúng được tìm thấy. Trong bài báo này, chúng tôi ước tính tác động kinh tế của một hợp tác xã sản xuất hạt thông quy mô nhỏ đã xuất hiện gần các khu rừng thông đá Pinus pinea L. ở miền Nam Tây Ban Nha. Để thực hiện phân tích này, chúng tôi sử dụng mô hình ma trận kế toán xã hội tuyến tính và dữ liệu sơ cấp từ một trong những khu vực sản xuất hạt thông lớn nhất trong khu vực. Các kết quả thu được cho thấy một đóng góp nhỏ nhưng tích cực cho sản xuất của tỉnh, 0.0013%, sản phẩm nội địa gộp, 0.0014%, và mức độ việc làm, 0.0017%, do hoạt động riêng của nó cũng như các liên kết với các ngành sản xuất còn lại. Mặc dù khoản thu nhập này nhỏ ở cấp tỉnh, nhưng nó vô cùng quan trọng đối với dân số ở các vùng núi nông thôn và tài chính nghèo.
