Ultrasonographische Befunde bei Endophthalmitis nach Kataraktoperationen

Ziel der Untersuchung waren Rückblick und Analyse ultrasonographischer Befunde von Patienten mit nach Kataraktoperationen aufgetretener Endophthalmitis. Untersucht wurden die Ultraschallbefunde von 81 Patienten mit Endophthalmitis nach erfolgter Kataraktoperation in einem Zeitraum von 6 Jahren. Des Weiteren wurden Operationsmethode, Zeit des Auftretens der Endophthalmitis und besondere ultrasonographische Befunde untersucht. Im untersuchten Zeitraum entwickelte sich bei 41 Augen eine akute und bei 25 Augen eine subakute Endophthalmitis. Eine spät aufgetretene Endophthalmitis wurde bei 20 Augen festgestellt. Eine postoperative Endophthalmitis trat in 51% der Fälle nach der Phakoemulsifikationsmethode auf. Folgendes wurde mittels Ultraschall festgestellt: Membranbildung in 23 Augen (28%), dichte Trübungen im Glaskörper in 9 Augen und die Verdickung der hinteren Wand in 73 Augen. Zwei Befunde waren häufiger bei akuter und subakuter Endophthalmitis: dichte Glaskörpertrübungen und Abhebung der hinteren Glaskörpermembran. Die Erhebung von Ultraschallbefunden am Auge, wie Verdickung der hinteren Wand und verdichtete Organisationen von Trübungen im Glaskörper, kann bei der klinischen Auswertung, Prognose und Behandlung der postoperativen Endophthalmitis sinnvoll sein.
