Tóm tắt

Abstract—The concentrations of γ‐aminobutyric acid (GABA) in twenty different regions of Rhesus monkey brain were studied. The highest levels were found in the substantia nigra, globus pallidus, and hypothalamus. Regions of the cerebral cortex and thalamus contained low amounts and white matter the lowest. Indirect evidence supporting an inhibitory transmitter role for GABA is discussed.
