Modelling of Tool Life in Turning Process Using Experimental Method

This study presents an attempt to investigation of Tool life in turning process using design of experiments (DOE) method. The wear data were collected in turning operations of SPK alloyed steel under different cutting conditions. By applying a full factorial design, effect of factors was investigated. Analysis of variance for tha main factors of design and their interactions were studied for their significance. Finally, a model using multiple regression analysis between cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut with the tool life was established.
