AbstractExperimental data and theory both support the contention that there is a maximum solubility in solid‐fluid equilibria. An example system, naphthalene‐ethylene, at temperatures between the upper and lower critical end points and at pressures from 1 to 1000 bar is considered. There is also a solubility minimum in this system.
