Prediction and verification analysis of grinding force in the single grain grinding process of fused silica glass
Tóm tắt
Surface grinding is an effective method in the manufacturing process of silica glass. Study of grinding mechanism of optical glass in the ductile regime has been relatively mature, but the variation law of grinding force during brittle removal is still unclear. In this paper, a theoretical model of grinding force is presented based on fracture mechanics model to predict the influence of machining parameters on grinding force. Finite element analysis (FEA) is utilized to simulate the variation trend of grinding force and principal stress in single grain grinding. The experimental results of grinding force in the processing of single grain grinding are compared with theoretical model. The variation tendency of the FEA simulation and experimental results is in good agreement with the theoretical model. The observation of the surface topography also confirms it on the other hand. This model is reliable to predict the grinding force size and optimize the machining parameters.
