Characterization of viruses from doves representing a new serotype of avian paramyxoviruses

Five viruses isolated from 114 hunter-killed doves (Columba species) in Tennessee, U.S.A. in 1975 were shown to be related paramyxoviruses which represent a new serologically distinct group of avian paramyxoviruses. We propose that this subtype be designated as PMV-7 in the current system of nomenclature.
