AbstractThe current trends in the synthesis of selective ion exchange polymers are presented in the order of functional polymers incorporating oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorous and sulfur ligands and also macrocyclic ligands. Chelating ion exchange polymers incorporating hydroxyoximes, aminophenols, polyethyleneimines, selective anion exchange resins incorporating pseudocrown ethers, or isothiourea groups and polymeric crown ethers are discussed in detail.
