Tỷ lệ sống sót của chuột sau khi dùng liều gây chết từ một chế phẩm lyophilizate từ Amanita phalloides (‘nấm đầu độc’) đã tăng rõ rệt nhờ vào việc tiền điều trị bằng các liều đơn của kutkin, một hỗn hợp của glycosid iridoid picroside I và kutkoside được chiết xuất từ rễ của Picrorhiza kurroa. Hiệu quả bảo vệ của kutkin tương đương với silibinin. Hiệu quả điều trị của kutkin dường như cao hơn một chút.
