Nghiên cứu này khám phá quan điểm của sinh viên đại học về việc họ có cần kỹ năng nghiên cứu trong công việc tương lai hay không, liên quan đến cách tiếp cận việc học, định hướng tình huống trong học tập các phương pháp định lượng, và những khó khăn mà họ gặp phải trong các khóa học nghiên cứu định lượng. Sinh viên ngành giáo dục và tâm lý học tại cả Phần Lan (N = 46) và Hoa Kỳ (N = 122), những người cho rằng họ sẽ cần kỹ năng nghiên cứu trong công việc tương lai, có sự khác biệt đáng kể so với những sinh viên không chắc chắn về việc có cần những kỹ năng này hay không.
