The JTSE is headquartered in Hanoi.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp style=\"text-align:justify;\">        The JTSE is published every 3 months (4 issues\u002Fyear), publishing research results and overview articles in 3 groups of fields: Tropical Ecology and Environment; Chemistry and Material Sciences; Biomedicine and Pharmacy. In 2022, the JTSE registered the international identifier Digital Object Identifier (DOI): 10.58334\u002Fvrtc.jtst and assigned DOI codes to all articles of the journal. The members of the Editorial Board of the JTSE are prestigious scientists and leading scientists from Vietnam and many countries in the world. The JTSE has been recognized by the Vietnam State Council for Professorship to score scientific articles in Chemistry, Medicine and Biology with scores ranging from 0-0.75 points.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp Những bài báo không đúng quy cách hoặc có nội dung không phù hợp hoặc vi phạm bản quyền sẽ bị từ chối (Ban Thư ký thông báo phản hồi đến tác giả trong vòng 1 tuần). Những bài báo đủ điều kiện, được Ban Thư ký tòa soạn chuyển đến Ban Biên tập có cùng chuyên môn với nội dung bài báo để đề xuất người phản biện. Các phản biện gởi nhận xét cho Ban Thư ký. Nếu ý kiến đồng ý đăng và cần chỉnh sửa, Ban Thư ký sẽ thông tin đến tác giả chỉnh sửa theo yêu cầu của người phản biện. Thời gian chỉnh sửa và gửi lại kéo dài không quá 2 tuần, từ khi tác giả bài báo nhận được thông tin (Quá trình này có thể lặp lại tối đa 2 lần\u002F1 bài báo). Ban Thư ký tổng hợp các bản thảo đã được tác giả hoàn thiện sau thẩm định trình Ban Biên tập xem xét, Tổng Biên tập phê duyệt, quyết định bài đăng theo các tiêu chí: sự phù hợp nội dung với tôn chỉ và mục đích, thể loại bài viết (ưu tiên các bài có bài có nghiên cứu chuyên sâu, hàm lượng khoa học cao), đóng góp mới bài báo, bài báo được ưu tiên đăng trong số gần nhất của Tạp chí theo thứ tự: tính thời sự, chất lượng bài báo và thời gian gửi bài.\u003C\u002Fspan>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cbr>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>\u003Cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\">2. In this study, PCR-RAPD technique was used on 18 Sa Dec’s rose varieties, resulting in a total of 66 polymorphic bands, with 87.88% being polymorphic and 12.12% monomorphic. The dendrogram analysis revealed that the 18 rose varieties from Sa Dec could be divided into two main groups with several smaller subgroups. The correlation between genetic variations in the genome and morphological markers of the 18 rose varieties was analyzed and discussed. In Vietnam, M. fruticosum has been used as folk medicine remedies for the treatment of digestive diseases, abdominal dyspepsia in women after giving birth. This plant has been used as a tonic, a mild cardiac stimulant, antipyretics and as a hematinic to resolve dizziness by Thai people. The essential oil of M. fruticosum flowers is used in aromatherapy and as traditional medicines in Thailand. Its flowers and barks have been reported to have antifungal, antioxidant, and cytotoxic activities. Phytochemical investigation on the fractions EA.3 and EA.4 from the ethyl acetate extract of stem of M. fruticosum led to the isolation of five alkaloids including aristolactame AII (1), goniopedalin (2), piperolactame C (3), 10-amino-3,6-dihydroxy-2,4-dimethoxyphenanthrene-1-carboxylic acid (4) and noraristolodione (5). Their chemical structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D–NMR, ESI-MS as well as compared with data in the literatures. All these compounds were isolated for the first time from the M. fruticosum collected at Di Linh district, Lam Dong province, Vietnam. All isolated were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against KB, Hep-G2, and MCF-7 cell lines. The results showed that the SLR in the coastal area of HCMC increased gradually over the years as well as the increase in greenhouse gas scenarios. In the period of 2025-2030, SLR would increase relatively equally among RCP scenarios. SLR in 2030 would increase about 12cm as compared to sea level in the period of 1986-2005 in all RCP scenarios. By 2050, the average SLR for the scenarios of RCP2.6, RCP4.5, RCP6.0, and RCP8.5 would be 21 cm, 21 cm, 22 cm, and 25 cm, respectively. The corresponding figures for 2100 would bee 43 cm, 52 cm, 54 cm, and 72 cm, respectively. was undertaken from 2013 to 2017, in eleven provinces and cities, in the Red river delta, Vietnam. Samples were collected from fives types of habitat as follow: natural forest, human – disturbed forest, grassland, cultivated land with perennial plants, agricultural land with annual plants. Samples were also taken from five types of soil: coastal saline - acid soil, acid alluvial soil, neutral alluvial soil, ferritic brownish soil derived from limestone and emaciated greyish soil. In this research, we recorded 283 oribatida species, beloning to 129 genus, 59 families. Among them, 49 species were not defined to species. In comparison with the recordes of Vu Quang Manh (2013) and Ermilov (2015), there are 108 species were for the first time recorded for research region fauna and 65 speciesare new for the Vietnamese fauna. Species diversity of oribatida community in each type of soil and in each habitat are different from each others. The species number in each soil type oscillated from 78 species to 178 species. The species number in each habitat oscillated from 95 species to 127 species. The rate of species which only were recorded in one type of soil or in one habitat is high. The results show that soil types and habitats are in close relationship with oribatida community. This plant is known as “Nghe tim” in Vietnam; and a decoction of its rhizomes has been used traditionally for the cure flatulence, fatigue, and hepatitis. Previously, some studies on the chemical constituent of the rhizomes of C. zedoaria have reported plenty of curcuminoids and sesquiterpenoids together with their derivatives, which have shown a lot of various bioactivities such as antiproliferative characteristic, anti-ulcer, antioxidant and antibacterial potential. By chromatography column method along with preparative thin layer chromatography on a normal phase silica gel on the EtOAc extract of the rhizomes of Curcuma zedoaria, we have isolated five pure compounds. Their chemical structures have been elucidated by NMR techniques and comparison with publishing data that have determined to be gajustulactone A (1), isozedoarondiol (2), neolitacumone (3), β-sitosterol (4), and β-stigmasterol (5). The results of this study have contributed to the scientific data system on the chemical composition of Vietnamese medicinal plants, especially the rhizomes of Curcuma zedoaria grown in Tinh Bien, An Giang. The study of phytoplankton will contribute important information in the evaluation of the biodiversity and environmental quality in Dong Nai river. Therefore, study was conducted to evaluate the variation of phytoplankton density in Dong Nai river. The research on the phytoplankton density was studied from 32 samples collected in March, June, August and December 2014 at 8 locations of Dong Nai river (from Song Be river to An Hao wharf). The species compositions of phytoplankton included 145 taxa of Cyanophyta, Chrysophyta, Bacillariophyta, Chlorophyta, Euglenophyta, and Dinophyta. The dominant genus were Staurastrum, Cosmarium, and Melosira. The phytoplankton density ranged from 10,709 to 201,258 individuals.L. This paper presented a fabrication a film composed of Aloe vera extract (AV) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) by freeze–thawing method. This method was simple, easy-to-implement which involved some steps such as freezing at low temperature (below -20 °C), then defrosting at room temperature (25 °C) and then performing some consecutive cycles to generate the film. The AV‒PVA composite film was evaluated for its mechanical property by tensile testing, chemical composition by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and morphology by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The obtained AV‒PVA composite film was solidified with a high AV extract content of AV: PVA (1:1, v:v). A composite film with 25% (volume) AV achieved a high elongation–at–break of 317.8%, the tensile strength of 10.45 MPa and the Young’s Modulus of 3.29 MPa. genus Usnea of the family Parmeliaceae, a genus of mainly light gray-green fruticose lichens that grow like mini shrubs without leaves or tendrils anchored on bark or branches, with about 350 known species growing in European boreal forests, but they are most commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. In the traditional Chinese medicine, the lichen Usnea aciculifera is used to treat bladder infections, painful urination, urinary retention, and swollen kidneys. In Vietnam, there are still few studies on the chemical constituents and the biological activity of this lichen. The chemical studies of some species of the genus Usnea showed phenolic compounds, depsides, depsidones, dibenzofurans, xanthones, triterpenoids, steroids, macrolactones, quinones, phthalides and fatty, many of these compounds show biological activities such as anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, enzyme -glucosidase inhibition, and inhibition of cancer cell lines. From the fraction 5 of the n-hexane extract of the lichen Usnea aciculifera (Parmeliaceae), collected at Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, six phenolic and one triterpenic compounds were isolated. The chemical structures of these compounds were elucidated by one- and two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, ESI-MS mass spectrometry, and HR-ESI-MS high-resolution mass spectrometry. They are ethyl 2,4-dimethoxy-3,6-dimethylbenzoate (1); ethyl 2,4-dihydroxy-3,6-dimethylbenzoate (2); -methyl orsellinate (3); methyl 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-3,6-dimethylbenzoate (4); methyl haematomate the release of glucose from carbohydrates in the diet, reduce plasma glucose levels and prevent hyperglycemia after meals. Therefore, seeking α-glucosidase inhibitors used in the treatment of diabetes from plant is the attention of many scientists. Based on the potential of the hairy root culture technology in increasing valuable chemical compounds accumulating, this study aimed to induce hairy roots from six plants of the Malvaceae family including Urena lobata, Abutilon indicum, Hibiscus Sabdariffa, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Sida acuta, Sida rhombifolia, and screening which materials has the highest in α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. We have successfully induced hairy roots from six plant species by using the Agrobacterium rhizogenes ATCC 15834 strain. The highest rates of hairy root induction were observed in Hibiscus Sabdariffa and Urena lobata. The stable introduction of rolB and rolC genes to plant genomes was confirmed by PCR. Under liquid-shake culture conditions on MS medium, hairy roots of Hibiscus sabdariffa, Urena lobata and Sida acuta showed better development than other species, and therefore, they are selected for the study of α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. This study proved that Urena lobata was stronger in inhibiting α-glucosidase activity than other studied plants, with the IC50 value of 7.65 μg\u002Fml.
