Những bài báo không đúng quy cách hoặc có nội dung không phù hợp hoặc vi phạm bản quyền sẽ bị từ chối (Ban Thư ký thông báo phản hồi đến tác giả trong vòng 1 tuần). Những bài báo đủ điều kiện, được Ban Thư ký tòa soạn chuyển đến Ban Biên tập có cùng chuyên môn với nội dung bài báo để đề xuất người phản biện. Các phản biện gởi nhận xét cho Ban Thư ký. Thời gian chỉnh sửa và gửi lại kéo dài không quá 2 tuần, từ khi tác giả bài báo nhận được thông tin (Quá trình này có thể lặp lại tối đa 2 lần\u002F1 bài báo). The dynamics of overhung rotating shaft system with six different shafts having different crack depth parameters are studied experimentally and through the finite element method (FEM). Variation of natural frequencies with crack depth parameters is studied using FEM through ANSYS. The practical application of axial extrinsic excitation is employed to an overhung rotating shaft system for spectrum analysis in two mutually perpendicular directions. The comparison of spectrum for healthy and cracked overhung rotating shaft system shows the appearance of distinctive peaks for cracked rotor system along with 2X component which is major for crack detection. The appearance of peaks at the summation of extrinsic excitation frequency plus rotational frequency along with extrinsic excitation frequency and its harmonics provides an early warning of the crack in the rotor system. The amplitude of these peaks also increases with the crack depth parameter, which estimates crack depth in the shaft. failures (leakage) were observed in the brass portion of dielectric unions after a relatively short service period. Metallographic examination revealed evidence of severe stress-corrosion cracking within the brass as well as dealloying on the surface. Evaluations using stress calculations and the dynamics of freezing water indicated that the unions were not overtightened during installation, and the water passing through the unions did not freeze. The pump was taken out of service and examined to determine the cause of fracture. It was apparent early in the examination that the fracture involved hydrogen stress cracking. However, the nature of the corrosive attack suggested an interaction between the threaded coupling and biological organisms living in the freshwater environment of the pump shaft. The organisms had colonized on the coupling, changing the local environment and creating conditions favorable to hydrogen stress cracking. The crankshafts, which were disassembled from gasoline engines with low mileage after specific tests, were stored in an indoor atmospheric environment with an ambient humidity of approximately 75% for 2 weeks. The experimental results show that the anodic reaction initially took place at the sulfide inclusion\u002Fsteel matrix interface, which was induced by the sulfide inclusion wherever very small amount of residual neutral chloride medium on the crankshaft surface was activated by moisture in the air. In addition, the reaction products could accelerate the rate of pitting corrosion toward the steel matrix in nearby micro-zones, and tiny rust that could be hardly observed by visual inspection, as a result, appeared in micro-scale on the experimental crankshaft surface even in indoor atmospheric environment. An artificial but representative microstructural model microstructure was generated using the Voronoi tessellation (VT) method and the non-uniform stress distribution is calculated by Finite Element Method accordingly afterwards. The number of cycles needed for crack initiation is estimated on the basis of the stress distribution in the microstructural model by applying the physically-based Tanaka-Mura model (TMM). Bên vỏ của thiết bị trao đổi nhiệt này (reboiler) được sử dụng để làm nóng nước làm mát, trong khi bên ống được sử dụng để tạo ra hơi quá trình. Vật liệu ống được làm bằng SA 213 TP 317LM (UNS 31725), và vật liệu tấm ống là SA 240 TP 317LM (UNS 31725). Thiết bị trao đổi nhiệt này đã bị hỏng 91 ống trong tổng số 2998 ống chỉ sau hơn 1.8 năm sử dụng. Kiểm tra dòng xoáy đã được tiến hành trên 100% số ống trong thời gian bảo trì và tìm thấy 91 ống có sự mất mát độ dày thành giữa 10 và 54%. The shell side of this heat exchanger (reboiler) is used to heat cooling water, while the tube side is used to generate process vapor. The tube material was made of SA 213 TP 317LM (UNS 31725), and tube sheet material was SA 240 TP 317LM (UNS 31725). This heat exchanger had failed its 91 tubes against 2998 tubes after just over 1.8 years in service. Eddy current testing was carried out on 100% of tubes during the turnaround and found 91 tubes with wall thickness loss between 10 and 54%. A failure investigation was carried out on the leaked tubes by pulling one tube and examined for visual examination and a chemical composition test (PMI testing) to see if the material used met the standard specification. The preliminary cause of the tube failure is change in the tube material grade, and the actual tube material is SA 213 TP 304L instead of the required SA 213 TP 317LM. Poor quality control from the inspection department has resulted in the tubes failing to meet the required standards specification of the heat exchanger.
