Intravenous injection of argininehydrochloride (arg-HCl) in logarithmically increasing doses increased the concentration of glucagon (pGl) in the femoral artery from 143 ± 39 pg\u002Fml (pre-injection) to 282 ± 49 pg\u002Fml (following maximum dosage of arg-HCl) and insulin concentration from 23 ± 5 to 41 ± 11 µU\u002Fml. Sodium chloride (NaCl) and urea, isovolemic and isosmolar to arg-HCl, failed to change pGl and insulin. Arg-HCl depressed arterial blood pressure from 93 ± 13 (preinjection) to 60 ± 14 mm Hg (maximum dose), NaCl increased it from 89 ± 13 to 99 ± 13 mm Hg. The blood flow increase due to arg-HCl was comparable with that due to NaCl in renal as well as in celiac and left gastric artery. The former was more pronounced in superior and inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery by 61 and 102%, and in gastroduodenal and superior mesenteric artery by 11 and 35%. Infusion of arg-HCl increased pGl from 294 ± 90 to 731 ± 200 pg\u002Fml, and insulin from 23 ± 5 to 63 ± 18 µU\u002Fml; the resulting blood flow increase, however, only differed in both pancreatic arteries by 10–20% from the rise during NaCl infusion where no change of pGl was observed and a decline occurred in insulin from 64 ± 21 to 27 ± 8 µU\u002Fml. It is concluded that physiological levels of pGl have no systemic effect on arterial blood flow. Die Abhängigkeit des spez. kolloidosmotischen Druckes des Blutes vom Eiweißquotienten stellt ein Problem dar, dessen Lösung mit zahlreichen Schwierigkeiten verbunden ist. Diese Schwierigkeiten sind zum Teil rein methodischer Art, zum Teil ergeben sie sich aber aus Reaktionen, die sich zwischen Eiweiß und Lösungsmittel, teils zwischen den Eiweißfraktionen selbst abspielen. 2. Bei der graphischen Darstellung der in der Literatur niedergelegten etwa 250 Bestimmungen ergibt sich, daß ungefähr 170 von ihnen miteinander gut übereinstimmen. Die Kurven berechnet nachGovaerts undv. Farkas für die Ermittlung des ko.D. aus den Eiweißfraktionen werden nun auf dieser erweiterten Basis korrigiert. Es ergibt sich dann für 1% Albumin der Faktor von 7,9 und für 1% Globulin der Faktor von 1,3 cm H2O. Diese Zahlen stellen einen Mittelwert dar; Abweichungen nach beiden Seiten sind zu erwarten. 3. Es wird festgestellt, daß bislang nur dem Pituitrin eine depressive Wirkung auf den reduzierten ko.D. zugeschrieben werden kann. Eine ähnliche Wirkung anderer Substanzen z. B. Lipoiden ist möglich, aber nicht erwiesen. 4. Die gefundenen Abweichungen von den angegebenen Mittelwerten stammen teils von den erwähnten kolloidchemischen Reaktion, teils von Versuchsfehlern her. Hyperventilation vermag die normale Blutdruckkurve zu senken. 2. Durch Hyperventilation wird die Adrenalinblutdruckkurve unterdrückt, erst nach beendeter Hyperventilation wird das Adrenalin wirksam. Für beides wird die mangelhafte Ca-Ionisation im Zustande der Alkalose verantwortlich gemacht. 3. Im Spasmus schnellt die Kurve hoch, nach dem Spasmus sinkt sie wieder, erneuter Spasmus treibt sie wieder in die Höhe. Dies wird durch die Unmöglichkeit, den wahren Blutdruck während der Dauer der Spasmen zu messen, erklärt. 4. Adrenalin steigert alle Erscheinungen der Hyperventilationstetanie, Ergotamin, sein Antagonist, setzt sie bedeutend herab. They frequently died after 4h and showed a significantly higher mortality between 8h and 28h as compared to the control rats where such deaths occurred 16h later. At 8h, the derangements of SGPT values and prothrombin time were significantly greater in the hormone-treated rats than in the control rats. In these CCl4-intoxicated rats, hepatic reduced glutathione content at 4h was significantly reduced after hormone treatment. The treatment significantly enhanced CCl4 metabolism, conversion of14CCl4 into14CO2 in vitro, by microsomes isolated from the liver, whereas it did not affect the microsomal cytochrome P450 content. These results suggest that glucagon and insulin treatment increased CCl4 hepatotoxicity in rats through activating the cytochrome P450-dependent mono-oxygenase system.
