A design for the reinforcement of stiffened cylindrical panels is applied where the polymer matrixes of panels and stiffeners are reinforced by graphene sheets. The effects of FG‐GRCL stiffeners are modeled using the improved smeared stiffener technique, which is developed by applying the anisotropic higher‐order shear deformation beam theories for curved and straight stiffeners. The fundamental formulations are obtained by applying Reddy's higher‐order shear deformation theory (HSDT), and taking into account the von Kármán geometrical nonlinearities. The algebraically nonlinear equilibrium equations are achieved by employing Galerkin's procedure, and then they can be solved by using the ordinary calculation process. nanocomposites are versatile engineering polymers with unique properties. In this study, nano hexagonal boron nitride containing thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers were prepared via melt blending and hot‐pressing techniques. The nanocomposites were characterized using Fourier transform infrared, differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gravimetric analysis, tensile tests, and thermal conductivity measurements. The surface morphology of the TPU\u002Fh‐BN composites was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The optical properties of the composites were determined by UV transmittance measurements and as the amount of h‐BN increased, optical transparencies decreased dramatically. Nanocomposites displayed higher E‐modulus values and lower elongation at break values than the pure TPU elastomer. Char yields of TPUs increased with increasing h‐BN percentage. Mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, tensile modulus, elongation at break, impact strength, flexural strength, and flexural modulus have been determined by conducting various mechanical tests according to corresponding ASTM test standards. Thermogravetic analysis (TG\u002FDTA) has been carried out so as to study the thermal stability of the composites. Viscoelastic behavior of composites has been studied using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). The results show that addition of nanoparticles has a positive influence on tensile and flexural behavior with appreciable reduction in impact strength. Addition of PTFE enhances the toughness of the materials, however other mechanical properties such as tensile strength and modulus decreases. Fractographs of the composites have been studied in Scanning Electron Microscope. TGA curves show that addition of both PTFE and nanozirconia improves the thermal stability of the composites. DMA studies reveal that addition of nanozirconia improves stiffness with reduction of damping properties, while addition of PTFE results in decrease of storage modulus. POLYM. Accelerated aging of injection molded specimens was achieved by hot air exposure (HAE) and pressure cooker testing (PCT) at elevated temperatures. For both aging routines, characteristic aging indicators were found. For hot air exposure, the carbonyl index obtained from infrared spectra revealed superficial thermo oxidation. For pressure cooker testing, the development of a regular crack pattern and successive surface roughening were observed by light microscopy and laser confocal microscopy. This was accompanied by a significant reduction in molar mass assessed by viscometry. In addition, progressing degradation of mechanical performance was ascertained by tensile testing experiments. At the onset of material cracking, the molar mass was about 25% of the initial value. POLYM. The microcellular foam which is produced by supersaturating the polyester resin with nitrogen is cured by dielectric heating. The lightweight composite contains about 10 μm size bubbles. By substituting the microcells for the particulate fillers of the conventional composites, the weight of the composite is reduced by 30 to 40 percent. A theoretical analysis based on classical nucleation theory is applied to predict the rate of nucleation. The diffusion controlled bubble growth is modeled and the theoretical prediction is in good agreement with experiment. The mechanical behavior of the microcellular composite has also been examined. The MAP‐POSS\u002FPVC nanocomposites were prepared. The influences of composition, shear rate' shear stress on melting rheological behavior of MAP‐POSS\u002FPVC nanocomposites were discussed. The dynamic mechanical properties, mechanical properties, and morphology were determined by DMA, material tester and SEM, respectively. The result shows that the plastic times decreases and melt viscosity increases with increasing MAP‐POSS content. The \u003Cjats:italic>n\u003C\u002Fjats:italic> has a maximal value at 5 wt% MAP‐POSS content, but have best impact strength at 3%. this study the possibility of tailoring the textile nanocomposite materials based on the polyester fabric and TiO\u003Cjats:sub>2\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>nanoparticles that can simultaneously provide desirable level of antibacterial activity, UV protection, and self‐cleaning effects with long‐term durability was investigated. To enhance the binding efficiency of colloidal TiO\u003Cjats:sub>2\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>nanoparticles, the surface of polyester fabrics was activated by low‐pressure RF air plasma, and corona discharge at atmospheric pressure. Obtained functionalized textile materials provided maximum antibacterial efficiency against gram‐negative bacterium\u003Cjats:italic>E. coli\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>. High values of UV protection factor (UPF) indicate the maximum UV blocking efficiency (50+) of these fabrics. The results of self‐cleaning test with blueberry juice stains and photodegradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution confirmed excellent photocatalytic activity of TiO\u003Cjats:sub>2\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>nanoparticles deposited on the fiber surface. The study of morphology of the composites showed that octaphenylsilsesquioxane (PH‐POSS) exhibited partial compatibility with PC matrix, while 3‐glycidyloxypropylsilsesquioxane (EP‐POSS) could react with phenolic hydroxyl groups of matrix. Thermal and mechanical properties were studied by DSC, TGA, and DMA. The result showed that the incorporation of POSS not only improved thermal stabilities of PC composites, but also retarded their thermal degradation. SiO fractions left during POSS degradations were the key factor governing the formation of a gel network layer on the exterior surface. This layer possessed more compact structures, higher thermal stabilities, and some thermal insulation. In addition, percentage residues at 700°C (\u003Cjats:italic>C\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>\u003Cjats:sub>700\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>) significantly increased from 10.8 to 15.5–22.8% in air. comparative study concerning the thermal stability of polystyrene (PS) and three polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane\u002Fpolystyrene (POSS\u002FPS) nanocomposites of formula R\u003Cjats:sub>7\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>R′(SiO\u003Cjats:sub>1.5\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>)\u003Cjats:sub>8\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>\u002FPS (where R = isobutyl and R′ = phenyl), at various (3, 5, and 10%) POSS concentration was carried out in both inert (flowing nitrogen) and oxidative (static air) atmospheres. Nanocomposites were synthesized by in situ polymerization of styrene in the presence of POSS and the experimental filler concentration in the obtained compounds, determined by \u003Cjats:sup>1\u003C\u002Fjats:sup>H NMR spectroscopy, was in all cases slightly higher than that in the reactant mixtures. Inherent viscosity (\u003Cjats:italic>η\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>\u003Cjats:sub>inh\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>) determinations indicated that the average molar mass of polymer in the nanocomposites was practically the same than neat PS and were in agreement with calorimetric glass transition temperature (\u003Cjats:italic>T\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>\u003Cjats:sub>g\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>) measurements. The temperature at 5% mass loss (\u003Cjats:italic>T\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>\u003Cjats:sub>5%\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>) and the activation energy (\u003Cjats:italic>E\u003C\u002Fjats:italic>\u003Cjats:sub>a\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>) of degradation process of synthesized nanocomposites were determined and compared with each other and with those of unfilled PS. On the basis of the results from thermal and IR spectroscopy characterizations, nanocomposite with 5% of molecular filler appears the most thermally stable.
