Feedstock properties and the resultant biochar produced at different pyrolysis process influence their chemical, physical, and structural properties, which are vital in understanding the functionality of biochar. Biochar use has been linked to some risks in soil application such as biochar being toxic, facilitating GHGs emission, suppression of the effectiveness of pesticides, and effects on soil microbes. These potential risks originate from feedstock, contaminated feedstock, and pyrolysis conditions that favor the creation of characteristics and functional groups of this nature. These toxic compounds formed pose a threat to human health through the food chain. Determination of toxicity levels is a first step in the risk management of toxic biochar. Various sorption methods of biochar utilized low-cost adsorbents, engineered surface functional groups, and nZVI modified biochars. The mechanisms of organic compound removal was through sorption, enhanced sorption, modified biochar, postpyrolysis thermal air oxidation and that of PFRs degradation was through activation, photoactive functional groups, magnetization, and hydrothermal synthesis. Emissions of GHGs in soils amended with biochar emanated through physical and biotic mediated mechanisms. BCNs have a significance in reducing the health quotient indices for PTEs risk contamination by suppressing cancer risk arising from consumption of contaminated food. The degree of environmental risk assessment of HM pollution in biomass and biochars has been determined by using potential ecological risk index and RAC while organic contaminant degradation by EPFRs was considered when assessing the environmental roles of biochar in regulating the fate of contaminants removal. All the prepared complexes were identified and confirmed by elemental analyses (C, H and N), molar conductance measurements, infrared, electronic absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance. The elemental analysis data suggest that the stoichiometry of the complexes to be 1:1:1[M: L\u003Cjats:sup>1\u003C\u002Fjats:sup>: L\u003Cjats:sup>2\u003C\u002Fjats:sup>] ratio. The molar conductance measurements of the complexes indicate their non‐electrolytic nature. The infrared spectral data showed the coordination sites of the free ligand with the central metal ion. The electronic absorption spectral data revealed the existence of an octahedral geometry for Co(II) and Cd(II) complexes and a square planar geometry for Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes. The electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of the Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes showed the existence a paramagnetic phenomenon and supported their geometrical structures which confirmed by the electronic absorption spectra. The method is compared with the conventional method also. The present work involves condensation of salicylaldehyde with various aromatic amines in water under microwave irradiation. A judicious choice of the solvent and reaction conditions allowed the final products to be generated in excellent yields in a one‐step procedure, whereas experiments under thermal conditions led to lower yields with tedious work‐up. Microwave irradiation method gives advantages like reduction in reaction time, increase in conversion, reduced wastes, and good yields. The XRD analysis revealed that single-phase MgFe\u003Cjats:sub>2\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>O\u003Cjats:sub>4\u003C\u002Fjats:sub> was formed at a calcination temperature of at 500–600°C for 3 hours in the absence of an intermediate phase. TEM analysis also revealed the formation of monodisperse magnesium ferrite nanoparticles, averaged at 30 nm in size. Twenty six sampling locations were selected at random and the ground water samples were collected mostly from tube wells at Noyyal River basin in and around Tiruppur area. The samples were analyzed for major physical and chemical water quality parameters like pH, alkalinity, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), total hardness (TH), Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cl &amp; SO\u003Cjats:sub>4\u003C\u002Fjats:sub>\u003Cjats:sup>2-\u003C\u002Fjats:sup>. It was found that the underground water quality was contaminated at few sampling sites due to the industrial discharge of the effluents on to the river or land from the Tiruppur town. The sampling sites namely Orathupalayam, Karuvapalayam, Kulathupalayam, Uttukuli and Kodumanalpudur showed high deviations in total alkalinity, total hardness, Ca, Mg and chloride concentrations. Hence our study concludes that the underground water quality study in this region shows a constant variation in different parameters in different periods (before and after monsoon). Reaction of (\u003Cb>4\u003C\u002Fb>) with thiocarbonyl-\u003Ci>bis\u003C\u002Fi>-thioglycolic acid gave a new compound name \u003Ci>N\u003C\u002Fi>-(4-oxo-2-thioxothiazolidin-3-yl)-2-((4-oxo-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl)thio)acetamide (\u003Cb>5\u003C\u002Fb>). Knoevenagel condensation of (\u003Cb>5\u003C\u002Fb>) with appropriate aldehydes gave fourteen (\u003Ci>Z\u003C\u002Fi>)-\u003Ci>N\u003C\u002Fi>-(5-arylidene-4-oxo-2-thioxothiazolidin-3-yl)-2-((4-oxo-3-phenyl-3,4-dihydroquinazolin-2-yl)thio)acetamide compounds (\u003Cb>6a&#x2013;o\u003C\u002Fb>) with moderate yield. The chemical structure of the compounds was elucidated on the basis of IR, \u003Csup>1\u003C\u002Fsup>H-NMR, \u003Csup>13\u003C\u002Fsup>C-NMR, and HR-MS spectral data.
