This research investigates a possible avenue for building brand loyalty that is not directly related to the marketing of the product – attracting individual investors in the brand's corporate parent. A survey of over 500 individual investors revealed that individual investors do tend to buy brands from companies in which they hold stock, and investors may buy stock in a company because they have experience with the brand. In contrast with brand loyalty, where consumers will not buy competitive offerings, individual investors indicated they would buy competitive offerings, suggesting that stock ownership is more likely to lead to repeat purchase behavior, but not brand Marketers invest significant dollars in securing the promotional support of well‐known individuals. Associative learning principles are presented as a useful framework for understanding how celebrity endorsers can be used more effectively. Principles such as repetition, overshadowing, blocking, belongingness, CS pre‐exposure, association set size, and extinction are introduced and linked to specific managerial suggestions for improving the use of celebrity endorsers.
",[138],"https://www.emerald.com/insight/content/doi/10.1108/10610429810237718/full/html",[1374
"89df18d4-0c7c-493d-9bee-2fb2bfe2dd1e",[],[1378
"0cd94dca-7c54-4440-85ba-fa6a88cd5178
[
Assistant Professor, Marketing Department, Saint Louis University, St Louis, Missouri, USA",[
Brian D.Till
[
[1396,1400,1404
[
[
[
},[1409
[
],[1415,1422
[
[58],[62,63,64
[
[78,79],[82,83
i10Index":89,"i10IndexLast5Year":18
"hindexLast5Year":89
2012":86,"2015":87,"2016":88},{"1992":92,"1993":92,"1994":89,"1995":93,"1996":89,"1997":94,"1998":88,"1999":88,"2000":95,"2001":89,"2002":92,"2003":96,"2004":88,"2005":97,"2006":98,"2007":98,"2008":99,"2009":100,"2010":101,"2011":100,"2012":102,"2013":103,"2014":104},{"2002":107,"2005":108,"2010":109,"2014":110},{"2002":113,"2005":114,"2010":115,"2014":110},"1998-10-01",1998,[78,65],[1438,1441,1445,1449,1452,1455,1459,1462,1466,1470,1473,1477,1481,1485,1489,1493,1497,1500,1504,1507,1511,1515,1519,1523,1526,1530,1534,1537,1540,1544
"Aaker, D.A.
