This study examined South Korean HTSF decision makers’ consideration of internal and external development for NTDPs. Drawing on transaction-cost and resource-based perspectives, we identified five key determinants of governance decisions: respondents’ perceived levels of technological capability, entrepreneurial strategic orientation, specialized asset investment, technological uncertainty and environmental uncertainty. A questionnaire-based survey of Korean HTSFs in the telecommunications industry yielded a sample of 258 respondents. On the basis of a logistic regression analysis of the firms’ responses, we found that firms’ perceived technological capability, entrepreneurs’ strategic orientations, levels of technological uncertainty and redeployability of invested assets were key criteria in the decision-making process. Specifically, this study showed that technologically strong Korean HTSFs preferred to use internal development methods, but tended to choose external development methods when they perceived high levels of technological uncertainty and low levels of invested asset redeployability. Entrepreneurs’ strategic orientation also influenced the choice of an external development method. On the basis of our empirical results, we discuss the managerial and practical implications of our research.",{"EN":268},"Technology sourcing decision making for new technology development projects: An empirical study of South Korean high-tech small firms",{"VOID":270},"10.1057\u002Fabm.2012.2","http:\u002F\u002Flink.springer.com\u002F10.1057\u002Fabm.2012.2",[273],{"id":274,"sortIndex":21,"researcher":20,"roles":275,"affiliations":276,"properties":285},"25240e6b-eb10-43d5-8108-37087c325253",[207],[277],{"id":20,"sortIndex":21,"affiliation":278,"properties":20},{"id":279,"createTime":280,"updateTime":280,"relativeEntities":281,"slug":20,"properties":282,"entityType":65,"verifyStatus":19,"verifyTime":20,"verifyNote":20,"syncStatus":19,"languages":20,"translateLanguages":20,"viewCount":21},"3ecf8674-1d97-45c7-8ade-0921883abf42","2023-12-11T23:54:50.638+00:00",[],{"title":283},{"VI":284},"Division of International Studies, Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea",{"title":286},{"VI":287},"Joohan Ryoo",{"url":271,"publisher":289,"properties":317},{"id":6,"createTime":7,"updateTime":8,"relativeEntities":290,"slug":10,"properties":291,"entityType":18,"verifyStatus":19,"verifyTime":20,"verifyNote":20,"syncStatus":19,"languages":20,"translateLanguages":20,"viewCount":21,"subjectFields":295,"manageAffiliations":296,"indexDatabases":297,"url":111,"thumbnailPath":20,"statistic":312,"gsStatistic":20,"type":183,"analyzePriority":20},[],{"issn":292,"eissn":293,"title":294},{"VOID":13},{"VOID":15},{"EN":17},[],[],[298,305],{"id":90,"indexDatabase":299,"url":103,"indexYears":104,"academicFieldIds":304,"indexDatabaseRanking":110},{"id":92,"createTime":93,"updateTime":94,"relativeEntities":300,"label":301,"description":302,"key":100,"publicationTags":303,"standard":20},[],{"EN":97,"VI":97},{"EN":97,"VI":99},[102],[106,107,108,109],{"id":70,"indexDatabase":306,"url":85,"indexYears":20,"academicFieldIds":311,"indexDatabaseRanking":20},{"id":72,"createTime":73,"updateTime":74,"relativeEntities":307,"label":308,"description":309,"key":81,"publicationTags":310,"standard":20},[],{"EN":77,"VI":77},{"VI":79,"EN":80},[83,84],[87,88],{"impactFactor":21,"impactFactorByYear":313,"i10Index":123,"i10IndexLast5Year":124,"totalPublication":125,"totalPublicationByYear":314,"totalCitation":146,"totalCitationByYear":315,"totalCitationPerPublication":162,"totalCitationPerPublicationByYear":316,"hindexLast5Year":182,"hindex":182},{"2012":114,"2013":114,"2014":115,"2015":116,"2016":117,"2017":118,"2018":114,"2020":119,"2021":120,"2022":121,"2023":122},{"2002":127,"2003":128,"2004":129,"2005":130,"2006":131,"2007":132,"2008":130,"2009":133,"2010":134,"2011":135,"2012":136,"2013":137,"2014":138,"2015":139,"2016":140,"2017":141,"2018":129,"2019":130,"2020":142,"2021":130,"2022":143,"2023":144,"2024":145},{"2002":148,"2004":149,"2005":137,"2006":150,"2007":151,"2008":139,"2009":152,"2010":153,"2011":154,"2012":155,"2013":156,"2015":133,"2016":157,"2019":149,"2020":158,"2021":159,"2022":160,"2023":161,"2024":145},{"2002":164,"2004":165,"2005":166,"2006":167,"2007":168,"2008":122,"2009":169,"2010":170,"2011":171,"2012":172,"2013":173,"2015":174,"2016":175,"2019":176,"2020":177,"2021":178,"2022":179,"2023":180,"2024":181},{"volume":318,"pages":320},{"VOID":319},"11",{"VOID":321},"445-469","2012-02-01",2012,{"id":325,"createTime":326,"updateTime":327,"relativeEntities":328,"slug":329,"properties":330,"entityType":198,"verifyStatus":199,"verifyTime":327,"verifyNote":200,"syncStatus":19,"languages":20,"translateLanguages":20,"viewCount":21,"primaryUrl":339,"fullTextUrl":20,"authors":340,"publicationType":220,"publisherRelationship":375,"citationCount":20,"citationInfo":20,"publishDate":409,"publishYear":410,"citationAnalyzeStatus":19,"lastCitationAnalyze":20,"indexDatabases":20,"openAccess":20,"references":20,"isForceReanalyzing":257},"30a4b457-c6d5-449c-b414-650675b5de9c","2024-01-03T15:55:18.592+00:00","2025-02-24T23:54:22.850+00:00",[],"Korean-style-leadership-a-comparative-perspective",{"references":331,"abstract":333,"title":335,"doi":337},{"VOID":332},"Abegglen, J. Comparing Korean leadership processes to those found in other countries, like Japan as illustrated here, adds additional clarity and depth to this anslysis. The lesson for foreign firms here is not to try to emulate Korean-style management, but rather to study Korean ways so we can be more astute when working with Korean companies and managers. object of this study is to examine the globalization strategies of Chinese companies which, it is contended, have been influenced by China's current stage of economic development. Since the initiation of its open-door policy in 1978, China has, in this respect, followed to a considerable extent the path of other Asian countries. Currently, China's foreign direct investment (FDI) is present in 139 states and territories but heavily concentrated in Australia, the United States, Hong Kong, Thailand, Russia, New Zealand, South Africa and Macao. Such ventures overseas are, however, small scale, with an average capitalization of US$ 3 million. This figure may nevertheless be set to rise, as Chinese companies move into more high-tech ventures; to date, China's firms have been more heavily involved in the service and processing sectors. In addition, China's FDI has been constrained both by government regulation of the economy and lack of experience on the part of China's companies in international competition. Accordingly, the role of both business and government in the promotion of managerial, financial and linguistic competence is assessed. In conclusion, the study summarizes the salient features of Chinese FDI to date and the future prospects for the globalization of China's companies.",{"EN":853},"Globalization Strategies of Chinese This study aims to fill this gap by examining the impacts of group-specific attributes on the pursuit of different internationalization strategies. Our findings from 219 Chinese business group affiliates show that horizontal linkages among group affiliates are more positively related to asset-seeking internationalization, whereas vertical linkages are more positively related to market-seeking internationalization. We contribute to the literature by moving a step forward to examine if business group attributes are leveraged differentially in market-seeking and asset-seeking internationalization strategies.",{"EN":973},"Business group attributes and internationalization strategy in Even though there has been a significant influence of SNS on employees’ lives, there is limited focus on their application in the HRM discipline. Building on social networking theory, this study supplements an understanding of the growing utilization of SNS, specifically for employer branding in organizations. In an in-depth study comprising 54 interviews of HR professionals representing organizations operating in India, the empirical findings suggest that firms leverage large, widespread, and high-performing SNS to foster their employer branding strategies in numerous ways. This study also describes the advantages derived from the use of SNS for employer branding in organizations and elucidates the intricacies of utilizing SNS as an employer branding strategy. In doing so, we contribute to the extant literature in two ways: (1) address the need for research on SNS in relation to employer branding and (2) highlight the importance of online or virtual means in the context of employer branding. We are also responding to the calls for research that advances more interdisciplinary discussions on ‘doing business in India’, especially approaches that consider employer branding strategies and
