This allows us to identify the health and service needs of individuals with ABI and provide direction for further improvement. Twenty-nine individuals were invited from the local Self-Help Group for the Brain-Damaged to participate in this study. Four instruments were used to help in the investigation of the subjective components of the quality of life, including the Personal Wellbeing Index (PWI) and Positive and Negative Affect Scales (PANAS). The instruments used were the Modified Barthel Index (MBI) and Lawton Instrumental Activity of Daily Living (IADL) Scale. After analysis of the results and their interpretation, there was no significant difference between the post-injury groups in their scores of negative affect. It is suggested that there should be services, such as psychotherapy, to help reduce the existence of negative moods. Arab women are the least active group in the Israeli labor market, suffering from cooccurring and multifaceted employment barriers, including limited personal resources, gender and cultural barriers, discrimination, poor local labor market conditions, and more. The paper’s central proposition states that psychological capital – i.e., hope, resilience, self-efficacy, and optimism – is a necessary prerequisite for individuals’ participation in the labor market. Two original studies were conducted. Study 1 used data from a nationwide survey for comparative objectives. Study 2, designed for deepening understanding of the objectives not met in Study 1, collected data from a non-random convenience sample. Study 1 indicates that Israeli Arab women, especially economically inactive women, have relatively and significantly low levels of psychological capital. Study 2 shows that this demographic engages in more behaviors defined as overcoming barriers than labor market-oriented activity. The data reveal that the level of psychological capital among the research demographic prepares them for removing barriers actions; however, it is not sufficiently high to encourage actively seeking employment. The authors conclude that in order to facilitate Israeli Arab women’s transfer into economic activity, policymakers must expand existing employment interventions with short-term psychological capital enhancements. By applying psychological capital to a consideration of labor market transition among Israeli Arab women, this paper contributes to our understanding of labor inactivity among the specific population This group now represents a quarter of the world’s population, and the antecedents of many later-life health problems occur during this period of life. We report on the level and determinants of life satisfaction among individuals age 15–24 years across the main regions of the world and contrast these findings with those for adults age 25–59 years using Gallup World Poll data from 145 countries\u002Fterritories in 2014 and 2015. We find that adolescence and youth is the age range during which life satisfaction declines most rapidly in all regions of the world, except South Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Additionally, in the three regions where overall life satisfaction is lowest, MENA, South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, the life satisfaction gap among youth in the poorest and richest quintile is the largest, reflecting the reality that children in some of the world’s poorest countries already face adult realities and responsibilities by this age. Correlates for young people and adults are strikingly similar and include material conditions, such as financial life and food security, and noneconomic factors such as social support, health, and internet access. This study examined the comparability of two HRQOL measures, the Healthy Days and the EuroQol EQ-5D, in the general US adult population. Data were from the 2000–2002 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). Using a descriptive and ecological design, we compared variations in mean unhealthy days (UD) and EQ-5D scores by sociodemographic and health characteristics, and compared the effect of these variables on both measures using multivariate linear regressions. Both UD and EQ-5D scores showed worse health for females than males, for blacks and Hispanics than whites, for those with lower educational attainment, for both underweight and overweight people, and for those with worse self-rated health, higher severity of activity limitation, and the presence of any disease. Both measures also had similar effect sizes for these selected variables. The UD and EQ-5D scores revealed a similar pattern according to sociodemographic variables and clinical factors. Findings of both approaches consistently revealed negative bidirectional cross-lagged associations between academic contingent self-worth and life satisfaction both at the between- and within-person level. Academic contingent self-worth predicted decreased life satisfaction from Wave 2 to Wave 3, but not from Wave 1 to Wave 2, whereas life satisfaction predicted decreased academic contingent self-worth across three waves. A survey of the three events was conducted among the host city residents (n = 605). Questionnaires measured eight legacy outcome factors for each of the three events. One-sample t-tests and one-way MANOVA tested the importance of these outcomes for residents’ QoL and the differences between various legacy categories across events. Results revealed that tangible legacies were the most important category of legacies affecting QoL. Specifically, infrastructure, environment, and culture were the most important in all three events. Legacies held different weight for residents’ QoL according to the event type; sport development and emotional legacies were expected to influence the QoL resulting from hosting the future sport event in 2017. The evaluation of infrastructural and environmental legacies changed in terms of when the event took place (past or future). Future events elicited positive evaluations for the residents’ QoL across all legacy categories.
